Keynote Speaker — Richard Pimentel

Richard Pimentelis a leading expert on practical issues in workers’ compensation, disability management, overcoming barriers, crises and change in the workplace, diversity in the workplace, and more. Technically proficient, he's also an exceptional communicator whose audiences praise his ability to combine information, humour, metaphor, analogy, and storytelling into an informative whole that doesn’t just present the information, but really communicates it in a memorable fashion. As key author of the highly acclaimed and widely used Windmills program — designed to change the attitudes and behaviours of supervisors who hire and promote employees with disabilities — Richard’s played an influential role in creating workplace opportunities for persons with disabilities within many prestigious government and employer organizations. In addition to Fortune 100 companies, he represented the U.S. State Department on disability employment issues in Romania, and is currently designing corporate and government return-to-work programs and job-recruitment and -retention programs for returning combat-wounded soldiers.

Richard is a senior partner with Milt Wright & Associates, Inc., where he conducts nationwide training and consultation on a diverse array of topics. He’s authored and coauthored numerous books and professional publications, including What Managers and Supervisors Need to Know About the ADA, Making the ADA Work for You, The Workers’ Compensation ADA Connection, and Taking Control of Workers’ Compensation Disability Costs. Not only that, a full-length motion picture of his life story, Music Within starring Ron Livingston, Melissa George, and Michael Sheen, was released in theaters in the fall 2007, and on DVD April 8, 2008.
